Themed ‘A Starry Night,’ Imani’s 2025 Spring Gala will long shine in the memories of those who attended. The evening began with the smooth jazz of the Center of Life Pro Band. Their lively melodies complimented the gallery filled with middle school, student artwork. Artwork so precious that it seemed as if beams of hope had been captured with every brushstroke.
The polyrhythmic beats of Imani’s drumming guild called the evening to order. Student poetry reminded us all of a bright, new tomorrow. Pianist and Singer Isaiah Small’s music was like stardust settling upon a room of toe tapping guests while the choir’s youthful voices reminded us that ‘children are our future.’
And there was more…The colorful costumes of the dancers painted a palette of swirling movement, wonderfully reminiscent of Van Gogh’s Starry Night.
And then we paused to honor the luminaries of the night. Laura Ellsworth for her devoted service to Imani’s Board of Directors and Bill Strickland for his his community leadership.
The evening was made possible with sponsorship from:
Jones Day, PNC, DeForest Koscelnik & Berardinelli, UPMC Health Plan, Baird Fleming Rodgers Group, Giant Eagle, Xycom, AJ Technologies Group, CCAC, Dollar Bank, First National Bank, Waynesburg University & Bridgeway Capital
Many thanks to Tom Walker, Jay & Linda Thier, and the AE&E Foundation for our donor match table. Special thanks to our Board of Directors, Volunteers from New Community Church and all those who attended. You made the ‘Starry Night’ splendid.
Thank you for your support!
