Faith at Imani

Faith and Education at Imani Academy

At Imani Christian Academy, we view faith as an integral part of our educational mission. We strive to nurture our students’ spiritual awareness while providing a robust academic foundation rooted in Christian teaching. Faith is woven into every aspect of our educational approach. As a Christian school, we focus on the teachings of Christ and the Bible, helping students understand their relevance to daily life and that very moment presents a choice: how to live in a way that pleases God.

Literary Integration: The Bible in English Language Arts

We emphasize the importance of integrating Christianity into our lessons and  recognize the Bible as a valuable literary resource. Its elements of poetry, narrative, and chronology enrich our English Language Arts curriculum. The Bible serves as a tool for studying literary concepts like plot and drama.

Chapel Services: A Spiritual Foundation

Chapel is an essential component of our school culture, tailored for each of our three “schools”; middle school, elementary, and high school.  Weekly Chapel time includes traditional praise and worship sessions as well as Biblical studies that are relevant to students’ lives and experiences

Theology Curriculum for Grades 6-12 and Respect for Other Faiths

Every student in grades 6 through 12 participates in a formal theology class, utilizing the Summit Curriculum, an apologetics framework. Our approach assumes students may not have a Judeo-Christian background. We aim to explain our beliefs and their biblical origins clearly.

At Imani, we approach other religions with respect and understanding. We recognize that our worldview is rooted in Christianity but acknowledge the reality of other beliefs. Our focus is on commonalities, emphasizing the goal of living a better life according to defined principles.

We include comparative studies of Buddhism, Hinduism, and Islam, among others. Students learn to respect differing beliefs while appreciating their own faith.
