Artist and Imani Art Instructor Kenneth Neely has a broad smile and an infectious laugh.  As a practicing artist, he seized the opportunity to come to Imani and share his love of art.  From contemporary African American artists to classic European masters, he has brought a new level of commitment to Imani’s visual arts.

This month, we see the fruit of his labor.  Fourteen Imani elementary school students were recognized for their artistic achievement by the Allegheny County Poster Contest.  The art exhibition centered on ‘What family means to me.’  Today, the students were honored for their accomplishment and recognized for their artwork.

The work of these students is just part of the creative expressions produced by Imani’s Guilds.  From the visual artists to drama, dancing to singing, drumming to poetry, Imani students show extraordinary talent and great promise.  We look forward to sharing with you more of their creative endeavors.

Join me in congratulating Mr. Neely and his talented students!
