See Her Emerge: Planting Seeds of Purpose and Leadership
On Wednesday, February 11, Imani Christian Academy’s See Her Emerge (SHE) workshop brought together our female elementary students for an afternoon of faith, growth, and intentional learning. The workshop, facilitated by our own Mrs. Leesa Finney, Special Projects Coordinator, and Principal Patrice Wade Johnson, focused on the timeless story of Queen Esther and the courage it takes to make the right choice—even when it’s hard.
A Story of Purpose and Courage
The girls explored Queen Esther’s journey, discovering how real heroes stand firm in their values and trust God’s timing. “They learned that Queen Esther had the courage to make the right choice, even when it was hard,” Principal Johnson shared. The message resonated deeply: each young woman is planted in her own royal position “for such a time as this.”
Following the discussion, students decorated flower pots and planted seeds—a tangible reminder that they, too, are planted for a purpose. The activity reinforced the workshop’s core message: just as seeds need nurturing to grow, each girl is being prepared to bloom in her unique calling.
Building Leadership Through Mentorship
This year’s SHE workshop cycle expanded to include younger students, recognizing that elementary-aged girls also need to know that God walks with them through every season. Three high school students—Rani, JeAna, and Rayna—served as student leaders, assisting with the elementary and middle school participants.
“This allows for growth in leadership with the older girls and provides role models for the elementary girls,” Principal Johnson explained. The multi-generational approach creates a nurturing environment where young women can see themselves reflected in older students who embody the virtuous, diligent, and wise characteristics SHE promotes.
The Heart of SHE
See Her Emerge exists to cultivate personal growth, leadership, and faith in the next generation of young women. The workshops, facilitated by Christian women invested in our students’ development, lay the foundation for Godly womanhood. SHE nurtures participants to be discerning, charitable, capable, and hardworking—ladies who embody wisdom, strength, and a deep trust in God.
As our students planted their seeds and learned from Queen Esther’s example, they were reminded that their own stories are still being written. At Imani Christian Academy, we’re committed to helping each young woman see herself emerge as the leader God created her to be.
