Our female high school students recently visited Steel City Squash in the East End to explore an exciting new collaboration that combines athletics with college preparation and lifelong skill development.
During the visit, students participated in a squash lesson and agility drills, getting a firsthand experience of the sport’s physical and mental demands. They also met with Executive Director Brad Young, who shared insights about Steel City Squash’s College Readiness Program and how the game of squash develops essential lifelong skills like discipline, strategic thinking, and perseverance.
This partnership opens valuable doors for our students. Those who participate in the College Readiness Program will gain networking opportunities by attending squash tournaments and joining scheduled college tours organized by Steel City Squash. These experiences provide our students with exposure to new environments and connections that can shape their academic and professional futures.
We’re excited about this collaboration with Steel City Squash, a community program dedicated to empowering young people through sports and education. Partnerships like these reflect our commitment to providing our students with diverse opportunities for growth and success.
